Beaches and coastal experiences
With over 10,000 kilometres of pristine coastline, Western Australia offers aquatic experiences like nowhere else in the world. Swim with the biggest fish in the ocean, the whale shark, in Ningaloo, play with wild dolphins and friendly sea lions in Rockingham, visit the Southern Hemisphere’s largest pod of killer whales in Bremer Bay, or spot humpback, southern right, minke and blue whales making their annual migration from multiple locations between June and December.
Head over to Rottnest Island to explore an underwater playground of coral reefs, hundred-year-old sunken ships, and submerged caverns with one of the islands experienced dive companies or relax on one of Perth’s pristine sandy beaches that are only as little as 20 minutes from our CBD .
If you prefer to stay on dry land, you can sip a cocktail and sink your toes in the sand at Australia’s only licensed beach at Bather’s Beach House in Fremantle as you watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean, or discover the creatures that swim our seas at AQWA.
