We are fortunate in Western Australia to be able to meet safely again, with limited restrictions on gatherings prompting major local business events to get underway.
I was pleased to see WA Premier Mark McGowan leading the charge to bring back business events safely, being the keynote speaker at the sold-out Seven West’s Leadership Matters breakfast, in late July, hosted at Crown Perth and attracting more than 900 attendees.
In other good news, last Friday, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre successfully opened its doors for the first time since the onset of COVID-19, hosting 600 guests at Business News’ Success and Leadership breakfast, featuring Nev Power.
The success of these events and the enthusiasm shown by people to get together again after a long hiatus, is wonderful news for the recovery of the Western Australian business events sector.
While Business Events Perth is continuing to work on securing international and interstate business events, with a number of recent successes, we have pivoted to funding State-based events to get more local business events off the ground.
Under this new state-based initiative, Event Here This Year, funding support of up to $30,000 per event is available for business events held in Western Australia.
We encourage anyone thinking of hosting an event, to get in touch with Business Events Perth to see how we can help you make your event a reality.
