September is set to be a busy month for conferences inbound to Perth, but it will also be a busy time for the Perth Convention Bureau, with staff attending multiple tradeshows and conferences in America, China, Melbourne, Sydney, and Karratha.
Senior Business Development Manager Linda Adams touched down in Las Vegas on September 9 to join Business Events Australia on the stand at IMEX America. The three-day event, which took place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre put Australia amongst 3,500 exhibitors in front of more than 4,000 qualified hosted buyers with both high level incentive and large-scale association conference leads.
16-18 September will see the 2019 WA Regional Tourism Conference kick off in Karratha, where PCB Chief Executive Officer Gareth Martin, Membership Manager Danielle Mauro and Destination Marketing Coordinator Hannah Beattie will hear from industry-leading speakers on critical industry issues and innovative ideas in the field of regional tourism.
17 September will find PCB Business Development Manager Mitchel McCuish at the EA Summit in Melbourne alongside Optus Stadium representative Nadia Owen, while PCB Business Development Manager Christine Parker will attend the Sydney EA Summit on 24 September and will be joined once again by Optus Stadium’s Nadia Owen, and Sasha Sherman of Crown Perth.
From 18-20 September PCB team members Becky Riley, Steve Fisher, Bridget Brown, Malcolm Farrell-Mitchel and Mitchel McCuish will join CEO Gareth Martin at the 30th Australian Association of Convention Bureaux (AACB) Annual Conference at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year sees the conference operate under the title “Destination Business Events” with a focus on customer experience.
To cap off a busy month, CEO Gareth Martin and Business Development Manager Connie Ling will fly to Wuzhen, China to attend the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase 2019 from 24-26 September. The showcase, designed to deliver access to buyers, will provide insight into market trends and assist industry in to gaining market intelligence. Gareth and Connie will engage in face-to-face meetings with agents and corporate buyers to provide destination knowledge around Perth and Western Australia, and secure MICE leads for the State.
If you are attending any of these events, be sure to stop by and say hi to our team- we’re always happy to have a chat about Perth and how the Bureau can be of assistance to you.
