At Business Events (BE) Perth's 52nd Annual General Meeting yesterday, Chair Bradley Woods and CEO Gareth Martin welcomed new Board Directors, reported strong results for 2023/24 and presented key organisation priorities to strengthen Western Australia's business events sector in the 2024/25 financial year.
During the meeting Chair Bradley Woods, recognised the important contributions of outgoing Directors Nigel Keen and Brian McHenry, and welcomed four new Directors who have joined the Board, bringing valuable expertise and insights to guide future strategies for the WA business events sector.
Dario Orsini, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, joins as a Member-Elect Director with over 30 years diverse experience in the hospitality industry both in Australia and Southeast Asia. Kirsty Mainstone, Event Director at Lux Events, also joins as a Member-Elect Director, bringing an extensive background in event management and over 20 years of experience managing and delivering diverse sector events across Perth and London.
Kendra Naidoo, recently announced as General Manager for the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC), has been appointed as a Major Partner Director and is a seasoned leader with 15 years’ experience in venue operations and management. Jacki D'Antonio, Area Manager for Western Australia at Singapore Airlines, also joins as a Consultative Director, with an extensive 20 years aviation and tourism experience.
Looking forward, BE Perth's 2024/25 Business Plan emphasises key marketing and business development strategies to accelerate growth within the Western Australian business events sector. These efforts are aligned with Tourism WA's Western Australia Visitor Economy Strategy (WAVES) 2033. Through a series of focused initiatives, BE Perth's key priorities aim to grow critical markets, develop new opportunities, increase Western Australia's market share in business events, and diversify the Western Australian economy through business events.
