GARETH MARTIN Chief Executive Officer

Gareth is proud to call Perth home and is a passionate advocate for Western Australia, with more than 13 years in senior executive roles at the organisation promoting WA as a leading destination for business events. Gareth was appointed CEO in 2019 and is focused on working collaboratively with key stakeholders, clients and member partners to drive strong outcomes for the WA business events sector. As a parent with little ones, Gareth’s spare time with his family is spent creating memories on new adventures exploring WA's ancient tracks and its vast natural landscapes.

KARA COOTE Executive Support

Kara provides Executive Support for CEO Gareth Martin, returning to the organisation following a number of years in communications and marketing at the State Library of Western Australia. With a young family and home renovating, spare time is a thing of the past but to relax Kara loves a coast walk or ride followed by a strong coffee.

TRISH MCKAY Director Corporate Services | Company Secretary

Trish is responsible for Corporate Services - including managing the organisation’s finances and the human resource aspects of Business Events Perth such as payroll, staff training and development. An industry all-rounder, Trish also brings a broad range of tourism and hospitality experience to her role having worked with PCOs and in hotels. Trish likes spending time with her family and travelling, aiming to see all Seven Wonders of the World.

CAITLIN SKINNER Director Business Development

As Director Business Development, Caitlin leads Business Events Perth's business development team, overseeing the organisation's sales activities in the local, domestic and international markets. Caitlin previously worked for Business Events Perth (formerly known as Perth Convention Bureau) for eight years in the roles of Director Community Relations and Senior Business Development Manager.

MITCHEL MCCUISH Senior Marketing Manager

As Senior Marketing Manager for Business Events Perth, Mitchel oversees the marketing and communications activities for the organisation, including BE Perth's destination marketing, brand identity, campaigns, digital platforms and social content. Mitchel began his career at BE Perth as part of the business development team in 2015, and in 2021 transitioned to the role of Senior Marketing Manager.

LINDA ADAMS Senior Business Development Manager

Linda is a Senior Business Development Manager and a member of the business development team. She is responsible for developing bid strategies to secure national and international association conferences in Western Australia. Linda has extensive experience in the tourism sector, having worked in senior business development and sales roles in commercial aviation for more than 20 years. She is passionate about promoting and supporting WA as a conference destination and ensuring visitors have the opportunity to explore all that WA has to offer. Having moved back to Australia from the UK in 2011, Linda spends most weekends at Perth’s beaches enjoying long walks and the sunshine.

Lauren Perkins Senior Business Development Manager

Lauren joins the BE Perth team as Senior Business Development Manager based in Melbourne. With over 17 years industry experience working across events and business development at organisations such as Crown Perth, Park Hyatt Melbourne and Crown Melbourne, Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, and provides an on-the-ground representative for BE Perth on Australia’s east coast.

Carla Teixeira Senior Business Development Manager

Based in Sydney, Carla joins the team at Business Events Perth with a strong background in international business events, having worked in event sales and business development roles at ICC Sydney, Hamilton Island, Hilton Sydney, and Novotel.

Rachel Wood Senior Business Development Manager

Rachel joins the Business Events Perth team as a Senior Business Development Manager, with 15 years of industry experience across hotels in the UK and Perth including Hilton Hotels and Crown Perth. Winner of the Best Conference & Events Management Employee award at the 2016 Australian Hotels Association Accommodation Awards for Excellence, Rachel has a strong background and a wealth of knowledge in business development with experience in conferences, events, groups and corporate sales, and a passion for national and international conferences. Originally from the UK Rachel moved to WA in 2011, trading the cobbles of London for Perth’s sandy beaches! Her love for travel continues as she enjoys exploring new cities and cultures.

Elena Kenny Senior Business Development Manager

Elena is responsible for managing a portfolio of international and national associations with the objective of attracting leading business events to Western Australia. In 2020, Elena moved to Perth from Dubai, where she worked in the events industry with key stakeholders such as Atlantis The Palm hotel and Dubai Business Events. Prior to working in Dubai, Elena gained experience in hotels in Greece and Eastern Europe, including her home country, Moldova. Elena enjoys spending weekends on the beach with her family and exploring wineries in the Swan Valley.

Alex Ng Senior Business Development Manager - Corporate & Incentive

Originally hailing from Singapore, Alex Ng joined Business Events Perth in 2019 as a Senior Business Development Manager and a member of the Corporate & Incentive team with a particular focus on South East Asia. Alex’s background includes over a decade of experience with Singapore Airlines, the last being as Manager Western Australia, and a stint thereafter as an Inbound Tour Operator in Perth. He is passionate about promoting Western Australia as a premium destination for corporate meeting and incentive business and looks forward to welcoming visitors from all over Asia to enjoy WA’s gourmet food and wine, friendly people, wildlife, beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets while hosting their business events.

CONNIE LING Senior Business Development Manager - Corporate & Incentive

Connie moved to Perth with her family from Shanghai, China in 2016. Before she joined Business Events Perth, Connie worked for the Hong Kong Tourism Board for six years and possesses extensive business development experience from working for international hotel brands in Shanghai and Western Australia. Connie's role is to grow the number of Corporate & Incentive visitors to Perth and Western Australia, and she is passionate about promoting WA as a destination for business events. In her spare time, Connie enjoys exploring the food and wine scene of WA with her family.

DANIELLE MAURO Business Development Manager

Danielle joins the business development team after several years as Business Events Perth's Membership Manager. With a wide range of experience within the business events industry, Danielle has worked within five-star hotels and conventions across Australia before joining Business Events Perth in 2018. Originally hailing from Melbourne and having spent time living in Adelaide, Danielle loves calling Perth home, and enjoys travelling within Australia and discovering Perth’s hidden treasures.

Georgia Bivens Business Development Manager

Georgia joins the Business Events Perth team with more than seven years’ experience working in the sport and recreation, events and tourism industries across the not-for-profit sector in Perth. Having worked with a local experience provider for numerous years, Georgia brings a dynamic skillset to the team along with qualifications in events, marketing and communications, with plans for further studies. As Business Development Manager, Georgia works with the international and national associations market and national corporate market while also maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and coordinating site inspections and famils. Away from work, Georgia enjoys spending quality time with friends and family and exploring other creative pursuits.

ISABELLA FIORE Business Development Manager

Isabella joined Business Events Perth in 2020 after graduating from Murdoch University with a Bachelors degree in Tourism and Events and Marine Science. Isabella's role at BE Perth includes a diverse range of duties such working with national business event planners, site inspection and famil coordination and producing and maintaining the organisation's sustainability policy. In her spare time, Isabella enjoys finding new ecotourism experiences and exploring the natural beauty Western Australia has to offer.

Karlee Walker Partnerships Manager

As Business Events Perth's Partnerships Manager, Karlee is responsible for managing the organisation's relationship with stakeholders and industry partners, as well as coordinating BE Perth's Aspire Awards program. Karlee holds a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Public Relations and is passionate about the tourism industry with over 10 years’ experience working with hotels in corporate and groups sales. Karlee appreciates exploring the great outdoors and camping any chance she gets, and enjoys cooking and spending time with her four-legged friend, Kaysie.

LUKA FLEMING Destination Marketing Coordinator

As Destination Marketing Coordinator, Luka has primary responsibility for the continued client relationship once a business event is confirmed for Western Australia, enhancing the delegate experience and boosting delegate numbers through tactical and strategic marketing campaigns. She also assists with the development of marketing materials including but not limited to graphics, video/photography, digital marketing assets and EDMs.

Angelina Martino Communications Officer

Angelina joined the Business Events Perth team in 2021, after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, with a double major in Marketing and Public Relations. Coming on as part of the marketing team at BE Perth, Angelina works across several projects at BE Perth supporting the team through a number of activities such as social media, content creation, campaign asset development and copywriting. In her spare time, Angelina loves escaping to WA's southwest, and exploring the vibrant restaurant scene of Perth.

MELISSA CHINNERY Accounts Administrator

Melissa is responsible for day to day accounting and administrative duties relating to Business Events Perth's suppliers and members, as well as managing all business development claims, with extensive experience in the field and over a decade in similar roles. Melissa spent five years in the Margaret River region amongst the lush grape vines, beautiful forest and never ending coastlines. Relocating to Perth in 2019, she enjoys spending time with her young family with regular walks no matter the weather and discovering the best eats Perth has to offer.
