I am currently in Singapore attending MICE Show Asia, co-located with ITB Asia, where I presented as part of an industry panel with senior business event executives from Sapporo, Malaysia, Thailand and New York. We explored what it takes to be future ready and how the sector has rebounded to take the MICE industry forward, what the future holds for in-person events and how large-scale conventions and meetings are returning while maintaining competitiveness in an uncertain period.
As a trade exhibitor over the three-day program, we also met more than 50 MICE buyers, conducted media calls and interviews; and connected with local industry clients alongside the Business Events Australia in-market team.
MICE Show Asia brings together the incentive travel, meetings and events industries to connect and build the future of the sector, spotlighting the vital role business events and tradeshows play in driving social and economic growth and positive impacts for a destination.
Aligned to our focus to attract Diversify WA key sector events, it’s fantastic to welcome Australia’s premier life sciences events Ausbiotech and AusBioInvest to Perth next week, expecting more than 1,000 delegates to meet in WA over the three-day program. We worked closely with the Western Australian Government, through the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation to attract these events to Perth, seeing their return to Australia’s dream state for the first time in fifteen years. Finally, I am pleased to welcome Tracey Cinavas-Prosser, who will be joining Business Events Perth as Director Client Engagement. Tracey brings a wealth of industry experience to the organisation including in event management and client relationship development and having most recently led Destination Perth. Tracey will lead the development and delivery of Business Events Perth’s client engagement events including a destination mega-famil, national and international destination showcases and roadshows, client and media famils, and domestic convenor events. Tracey’s previous background with this organisation will ensure that she generates near term outcomes for Business Events Perth and Western Australia, and I look forward to her commencing with us.
